Living Thankfully


     Ahhhh, I'm just so thankful for this life that I have!! There is so much to be thankful for and sometimes I forget about all those things because my mind gets fixated on what I don't have.  I think most people face this problem, especially since we live in a world that is always pushing the bigger and better thing in our faces.  Being thankful for what I have is something that I try and keep at the forefront of my mind every single day, not just one day out of the year ( I'm looking at you Thanksgiving).  Thanksgiving is a great reminder of this, but what if we lived everyday as thankful for this life as we are on Thanksgiving?  I think the world would be a much happier place.



     Compared to a LOT of people, I have soooo much! I'm not just talking about material possessions either, I have just been very blessed in this life and I need to say thank you to the big man upstairs more often than I do.  You wouldn't accept a gift from someone and not say thank you, would you? So why don't we say thank you more often? 
     Saying thank you is something that I try to do every morning when I'm praying or having my morning cup of coffee.  It doesn't always happen on those days I oversleep and am flying out the door, but I try my best! I've found that when I start my days off saying thank you it can completely change my mood.  I'm 10x happier and that happiness lasts throughout the day. So I want to encourage you to try it out.  List out all of the things your are thankful for each morning and see how it changes your outlook on life.  See how it shifts your heart in line with God's.
     So here's what I'm thankful for today.  I'm thankful for the roof over my head, the clothes on my body, my family that loves me, my steady job, having a car that works, living in a country with freedom of religion, God's grace and love (because I mess up all the time!), my amazing friends.  And I'm thankful for the wonderful holiday weekend with my parents who drove down to Nashville to spend time with me!
     I hope you all had a fantastic Thanksgiving filled with family, friends, and lots of food.  I'm pretty sure I'm still in a food coma and that it's going to last all week! I'm hoping it wears off quickly though! But what I don't want to wear off, for myself and for you, is having a thankful mindset.  May we strive together to live each day thankfully!
