Lake Superior | Ontonagon, Michigan | Porcupine Mountains Music Fest

This weekend I had the opportunity to perform at the Porcupine Mountains Music Festival in northern Michigan and it was beautiful up there! It was right on Lake Superior, which I had never been to before, so I obviously had to take some pictures!

Birthday Book Haul!

It was my 21st birthday on August 1st, so of course I had to go and buy a bunch of new books because what's a better gift to yourself than new books?! Well that was my thinking anyway so I purchased 7 new books off of Amazon and I cannot wait to read them all! If you follow me on Goodreads or on my blog here you have probably seen that I have already read The Bronze Horseman, and loved it, and am now starting The Assassin's Blade which I'm am super stoked to read!  I've been on a huge fantasy kick lately, thank you Sarah J. Mass, so as you can see most of these books are fantasy.  Here are the books I purchased along with their summaries so if any of them tickle your fancy you can pick it up as well and maybe we can share our thoughts!

The Bronze Horseman by Paullina Simons | Thoughts

My rating:

This book was such an emotional roller coaster. It tore my heart open and sewed it back together too many times, but that's what made it so good too! It was really interesting to read about how life was in Russia during WWII and just how much they went through. The love store between Tatiana and Alexander was just beautiful as well, so many obstacles but they still found their way to each other in the end. The way it ended made me want to cry, but considering that the 2nd book is titled Tatiana and Alexander, I don't doubt that things will work out. I can't wait to continue the series!

My rating:

So good!! I really liked the plot of this book as well as the characters. I didn't even see that character twist coming at the end, and frankly I just want to punch him in the face...like really hard! Overall all it was a really easy and fun read and I can't wait for the next book to come out!
